Funnels
Funnels measure how visitors move through a sequence of steps towards a sale. RevScope knows about your payments, so a funnel can end in actual revenue rather than a proxy goal.
Step types
| Step | Matches |
|---|---|
| Pageview | A visit to a specific page, e.g. /pricing. |
| Event |
A custom event, e.g. signup or checkout-started.
|
| Payment | A completed payment from any connected payment provider. |
Creating a funnel
- Open the Funnels tab in your dashboard.
- Add steps in order. The funnel builder shows your existing pages and events, and shows a live preview of how many visitors match each step as you edit.
- Save. Funnel data is computed over your selected date range.
A typical SaaS funnel looks like:
- Pageview:
/(landing page) - Event:
scroll-to-problem - Event:
scroll-to-solution - Pageview:
/pricing - Event:
signup - Event:
start-checkout - Payment
Reading the results
- Step counts and drop-off rates show where visitors leave the path. Keep more visitors in the funnel, get more revenue.
- Funnel revenue shows how much money the completing visitors generated.
- Drop-off destinations show where visitors went instead of continuing, including outbound exits, so you know what distracted them.
Tips
- Keep funnels short (3–7 steps). Long funnels fragment your data and hide the real problems.
- Combine funnels with the global filters (country, referrer source, landing page) to compare drop-off by audience. For example, paid search vs. social media.
- If a step has a surprisingly high drop-off, check its drop-off destinations first; the fix is usually visible there.
